Short Biography

Since 2003 Janet has been able to use the experience gained from her previous management roles to assist with the development and management of projects at Maslen Environmental, including co-ordinating funding, financial management and project reporting procedures.

She assisted with establishing and maintaining financial reporting procedures for the Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre, Barton upon Humber and the £1.5 million Integrated Composting Project funded by Sita Environmental Trust. In 2005 Janet co-ordinated the submission of a Your Heritage application to HLF for an Oral History project on behalf of the Humberhead Levels and Moors Partnership.

The application was successful in securing £40,000 to undertake this valuable heritage project, which commenced in 2006. Janet is also delivering project management support to The South Humber Bank Partnership comprising North Lincolnshire Council, English Heritage, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Natural England, the Environment Agency and Queen Street School Preservation Trust.

The Partnership is promoting the tourism and heritage of the south Humber bank as part of a ‘green tourism’ regeneration strategy. The South Humber Bank Heritage Tourism Project was prepared by Maslen Environmental and funding has been secured to create a network of heritage destinations along the south bank of the Humber.

The work involves heritage restoration and improvements to the region’s physical and intellectual accessibility to increase the value of tourism in the local economy. Janet’s role since April 2006 includes project co-ordination support to the Project Manager at North Lincolnshire Council, collation of funding reports for the Regional Development Agency, partner communications and Steering Group meeting arrangements.

The project will initially involve work over 3 years, with a budget of £4.5 million and is supported with funding secured on behalf of the project partners by Maslen Environmental, with assistance from Janet, of £1.9 million from the Regional Development Agency, £850,000 from HLF and £80,000 from English Heritage.
