The merger with JBA aims
to build on the companies combined areas of expertise.
Both companies are closely involved in Climate Change
related projects and both saw the benefits to merge their
expertise in this and other areas.
We have built our skills and reputation
in landscape architecture, landscape planning, stakeholder
engagement, sustainability and external funding. Our
ten strong team of Landscape Architects and specialist
project managers will now complement
the work of JBA Consulting, the UK's leading specialists
in flood risk and environmental management. 2007 has
been a productive year for us and the merger will help
us build on our success, in
particular the BURA National Best Practice Award for
Regeneration awarded in November for our work on the
south bank of the Humber.
JBA provides a uniquely integrated service
in civil engineering, spatial modelling, Geographical
Information Systems, wetland ecology engineering, environmental
and strategic water management, process modelling of
the whole water cycle, and information management.
JBA was founded in 1995 and has its headquarters at
Broughton Hall, Skipton. It now employs 197 technical
staff in ten offices across the UK and recently expanded
into Ireland.
Jeremy Benn, a founder member and Managing
Director of JBA, said:
"We were attracted to
Maslen Environmental because of their solid track record
and reputation." "Their core values
are similar to our own - they place great emphasis
on strong client
relationships and value work ethics highly."
"We’re
looking forward to developing new avenues of work,
particularly in the
fields of adaptation to and mitigation of climate change."
"Maslens work in
developing partnership projects and in external funding
will be a significant
benefit for our clients."
Maslen Environmental will be used to
brand and expand the work of JBA’s existing Environment
Division and Steve Maslen remains as Managing Director
of Maslen Environmental.
